 Neal Kathel.

Due to an early fascination in design and technology Neal decided to pursue a course in this field by studying for a BA in Furniture Design and Practice at The University of Lincoln. Through research and experimentation, this course has enabled him to further develop his skills in both the designing and making of modern contemporary furniture.

His current inspiration derives from fusing traditional furniture making techniques and materials with modern designs and methods. He aims to explore and exploit as many design possibilities early on in the design process so that he can concentrate on the craftsmanship and attention to detail towards the completion of his pieces of furniture.

With the use of geometric shapes and simple concepts, Neal tries to balance the form and structure of every piece with modern aesthetics to produce prominent hand crafted furniture that is personal and distinctive to his own design identity.

Neal works primarily in hardwoods and enjoys working with oak. However, in the future, he hopes to experiment with a variety of different materials and modern technological methods to further his developing interest in these areas.
