Chris Penn.

After completing a traditional furniture based course of study at Suffolk College Chris decided that he should develop his design skills further in line with his existing practical abilities. This lead to enrolment at the University of Lincoln where his design style has changed and evolved dramatically.

Chris’s style of furniture has come to focus around geometric forms such as cubes, and the use of colour to emphasise the structure and make a bold statement.
Traditional methods of veneering have been used in conjunction with bright colours to modernise a traditional technique.

The work he has created this year is intended to make a statement and to challenge the conventions of traditional furniture making in the mind of the observer.
